Tutorcity is a leading website for one-to-one online tutoring. Through Tutorcity, students and tutors can easily find one another and conduct online lessons through real-time video calls.
Just click on the Join link on the top right corner of the page and you are just a few steps away to signing up for a Tutorcity account.
Once you have completed the Sign Up page successfully, we will send a confirmation email to the address you entered.
Click on the activation link within that email. You can also copy and paste the provided link into your browser if you prefer. You also have the option of just entering the activation code into the account activation page.
After the activation is completed, you will be able to use Tutorcity.
Note that if you don't receive the activation email within a few minutes, be sure to check your spam or junkmail folder to make sure it wasn't misfiled.

You can type some keywords related to the topic that interests you into the Search bar that is always located at the top of the Tutorcity webpage then click 'Find'. The relevant list of lessons offered by tutors will then be shown on the results page.
For each of the lesson listed, you will be shown the relevant details of the lesson including the title description, price, start date, and duration of the lesson. You will also be able to see how the tutor has been rated by other students in the past.

Students taking lessons will pay the tutors directly according to the listed rate.
Tutorcity does not charge students for searching or registering for a lesson. Instead, Tutorcity will charge tutors a competitive commission fee for each successfully registered lesson. During the beta phase, this commission fee is waived.

If you would like to find out more about a teacher including a description of their credentials, ratings, and other lesson offerings, simply click on their name to view their profile.
From the search results page, click on the name of lesson you would like to take or click on 'See details'. On the detailed description of the lesson page, click on ""Register"" which will bring you to the review lesson registration. Be sure to carefully review the lesson details, particularly for any pre-requisites, payment terms and cancellation policy prior to registering for the lesson. If you have any doubts, send the tutor a question via the Send Message link.
From the search results page, you can view the start date and time for each lesson. For some lessons, additional time slots are available. You can select from these open time slots during the lesson registration process.
If the lesson still does not fit your schedule, you can contact the tutor by sending a message to him or her via the send message link to request an alternative date and time.

Once you register for a lesson, you are committed to complete it with the tutor.

PayPal is the safer, easier way to pay and get paid online. The service allows anyone to pay in any way they prefer, including through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances, without sharing financial information. PayPal is the way students pay tutors on Tutorcity.
We recommend that all users have a PayPal account as it is a safe and easy way for users to send and receive payments over the internet.
However, if you are not comfortable with signing up for PayPal yet, PayPal allows you to still make a payment using your preferred credit card without signing up for a PayPal account.

Your honest feedback will be extremely valuable to the Tutorcity community and will help others select a tutor. Feedback works both ways. A student can rate the teacher according to their overall experience with the lesson and interactions with the teacher. Likewise, the teacher can rate the student according to their overall experience with the lesson and interactions with the student.
As a student, you can give feedback to the tutor of the lesson. As a tutor, you can give feedback to the student. You can only give feedback after the completion of the lesson.

When you are viewing a user's profile, just click on the 'Add user to my network' link.
Once you added a user to your network, this user will have access information about you that you have designated to be viewable only to your network.
To ensure all user's privacy preferences are safeguarded, Tutorcity require that you need to be in a specific user's network in order to view their protected information. Even if you have added that user to your network, you will not be able to view their protected data until that user has added you to their network.

Inbox is Tutorcity's own messaging system to allow users to send messages to each other. Each user will have their own Tutorcity inbox and can create, view, reply and delete messages.
On a user's profile, just click on the Send Message link to show the send message form.
